‘Figures of Light’ exhibition

murmur, Amsterdam, NL

In Figures of Light, Salma explores the elements of physical and spiritual landscapes in abstract form — where the notion of ‘light’ represents contemporary unveilings, where light is shown on Truths, both material and societal.

Grounded in her process of fluid ink strokes and pastel texturing, Salma creates a sonorous, scriptural dimension, expressed in her unique intuited language.

The concept of light represents her understanding of the time we live in, in which light is shown on truth. The artist’s process of intuitive ink strokes, chimes with repetitive language found in sound, notably in her calligraphic forms.

murmur is a listening bar in Amsterdam with focus on sharing music outside the mainstream. The coming month - october/november 2026 - the tapestries will be serving as a backdrop to sonic collectors sharing parts of their music libraries alongside a series of rotating guest chefs.
